Top-Down Design of High-Performance Sigma-Delta Modulators (Kluwer International Series in Engineering and Computer Science, 480)
Published in Hardcover by Kluwer Academic Publishers (January, 1999)
Average review score:

Don't Believe the Cover Text
This is a excellent book for sigma-delta modulator design. As the title of my review, It is a excellent book for sigma-delta modulator design. Thanks to this book, I obtain more useful information when designing a sigma-delta modulator. I think it is very useful and powerful for someone who wants to design a high performance sigma-delta modulator due to it's clear explanation of the design method. Thus, I deeply recommend this book for the other readers who interest in sigma-delta modulator design.

Daughters of the Canton Delta: Marriage Patterns and Economic Strategies in South China, 1860-1930
Published in Hardcover by Stanford Univ Pr (April, 1989)
Average review score:

Informative, but poorly writtenDaughters of the Canton Delta provides the reader with a great deal of interesting information regarding marriage practices and the struggle of women in the Canton Delta. Unfortuantely, Stockard seems to have trouble writing concisely. Sentences are often repeaded multiple times before she feels her point has been appropriately conveyed. This makes for somewhat of a frusterating read.
Do ReadDaughters of the Canton Delta is not only one of my favorite anthropology texts, but it stands alone as a great read. Although the author went to a great deal of research and fieldwork, each chapter reads easily and quickly. It makes a great classroom text or bedside reading. This book provides the perfect opportunity for someone who doesn't have much experience with good anthropology (research and study), but wants to. I'd also highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in asian cultures in general, there are many practices or aspects of marriage revealed in this book that I imagine even many inhabitants of South China don't know.

Oversampling Delta-Sigma Data Converters : Theory, Design, and Simulation
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Sons (January, 1992)
Average review score:

A good book on Sigma-Delta converters, theory and practiseA good book on sigma-delta converters, even though it is a compilation of chapters by different authors. It is obvious that they collaborated, because you really don't get the impression that multiple authors are involved. Theory and practise are discussed to a reasonable depth. Make no mistake though - it would still be difficult to rush off and design a working prototype and expect a spice simulation to agree with theory. The illustrations are good, and the book is well written. I take off a star mainly because it is expensive.
delta sigma modulatorit is real good books. easy to understand the sigma modulators and good for people who interested to know the derrivation of the equations.

Bows on the Little Delta
Published in Hardcover by Glenn & Margaret St. Charles (January, 1997)
Average review score:

The Little Delta Then And NowThis was a great book of adventure and hunting. These true stories have an enduring legacy of a bygone day when men were men and hunting was hunting. I spent some time hunting in the same area of Alaska that the main part of the book takes place and reading the book made me relive my own experiences as well as want to go again. The documentation about how bow hunting was looked at in the early days and the beginings of the Pope and Young Club are both interesting and historic.

A DEATH IN THE DELTA THE STORY OF EMMETT TILL
Published in Hardcover by Free Press (November, 1988)
Average review score:

Great Historical PerspectiveNot only did this book provide great in-depth details of the Till murder, but it also provided a great narrative on how the murder affected and possibly jump started the civil rights movement. I'll rate it 4 out of 5 stars...

Delta Factor
Published in Unknown Binding by Bt Bound (May, 1900)
Average review score:

I think this book is very interesting and educational. This book is very good, one of the best I've read. It is very interesting and he describes each character and setting with extremely terrific details. This book teaches a lot in deep detail such as:1]pharmaceutical history, description, etc. 2]genetics,DNA 3]patenting,and much more. I recommend this book to people who enjoy edge-of-the-seat mysteries, peoples feelings, or learning. The reason I gave an 8 is because some parts are hard to understand, also the end sort of keeps you hanging. But this book is great. Get it.

Delta Force: Black Hawk Down
Published in Paperback by Prima Publishing (01 April, 2003)
Average review score:

Nice, but not crucialThere is nothing wrong with this strategy guide, except that the game itself doesn't require a lot of strategy, and therefore, you will not need this book all too often.
It did however get me out of a few frustrating situations, where it simply wasn't all too clear what to do. (The book simply made up for the lack of good game design and instructions in those cases...)

Delta Green: Dark Theatres
Published in Paperback by Armitage House (15 November, 2001)
Average review score:

Some true brilliance in a few talesThis anthology of Delta Green short stories presents a good introduction to the conspiracy/horror concepts of the DG world. Some stories are better than others, and each tale has it's own merits, but the story by Arinn Dembo stands head and shoulders above the rest. The story, a DG-flavored explanation of the life and times of a rockstar who closely resembles Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, is truly fantastic in my opinion. I'm probably a bigger fan of the story because of the unsolved mystery of Cobain's death, but it's well-written and sucks you in with a mixture of present-time and flashback sequences. I recommend the book as both an introduction to DG, and as a source of fresh new historical fiction authors.

Delta Pavonis
Published in Paperback by Baen Books (October, 1990)
Average review score:

A nice if somewhat rushed short novelI happened to pick up this book by chance. Also it is only part of the Island Worlds series by the authors (the others being Act of God, Between the Stars, & I beleive one titled simply Island Worlds though they all appear out of print so it is hard to tell for sure until I find more of the titles), so my opinion of the book is going to note the fact of this book on it's own & not as part of the group. It starts as a rather normal sort of hard SF plot, with the basicis being the exploration of a planet in of all places the Delta Pavonis solar system. It quickly jumps ahead & tosses in characters from previous books without introducing them very well (short one paragrpah discriptions generalizing why the are important), that edge the plot toward a sort of race to decipher some alien artifacts that are found. I like the plot though at times it seems to skip ahead by months or even a couple of years without much of an interlude. My only real complaint abotu teh book is the fact that it seems as if it would work better compiled with teh other books of the serious with the way past characters are handled & the fact that they jump ahead in time without much notice or recap of what happened until they seem to remember they skipped telling us this part of the story. I still recomend it, but if you can do yourself a favor & get the whole series at once or in order.

Delta: An Airline and Its Aircraft: The Illustrated History of a Major U.S. Airline and the People Who Made It
Published in Hardcover by World Transport Pr (December, 1993)
Average review score:

A great overview of Delta evolutonAs a new Delta employee this gives me a great understanding of how my company grew through merger and aquisition. There are great photos and periodic reviews through until the early 90's. The book stops abruptly prior to the dark days of 7.5 coprorate initiative but leaves an opportunity for an equally interesting follow up I hope.. FANTASTIC!
My rating is based on this inaccuracy, rather than the content. The papers in the book are good, but not for the audience that the promo text will attract.
I still haven't found a good tutorial on Sigma-Delta design.
If you are looking for a compendium of papers on the Sigma-Delta ADC's, I'd suggest Norsworthy, "Delta-Sigma Data Converters: Theory, Design, and Simulation", IEEE Press. It's cheaper and covers more material.
===========
(1) The promo text mentions CAD tools which are supposed to improve the reader's productivity. These tools are not readily available. There is no mention in the book on how to get them, and a web search on the tool names turned up about 5 hits (all PDF papers about the tools) rather than sites where the tools can be downloaded.
(2) There are no MATLAB/Verilog/C/Spice simulations that you can try on your own. It is definitely NOT a tutorial, as suggested by the promo text. The level of detail is about what you would find in a JSSC article.
(3) The book covers JUST the modulator - not the entire Sigma-Delta ADC. There is no discussion of decimation or filtering. I mention this because the cover text seems to pitch it to engineers new to the area, and I expect most engineers new to this area would be designing Sigma-Delta ADC's (not just the modulator).
